Fanview: Will You Follow Bayern Munich More Keenly Now That They Played In India Against Our National Team?

After showing their class against the Indian national team in Delhi, have the fan following of German giants, Bayern Munich increased in India? Goal.com finds out...

Bayern Munich had outclassed the Indian national team when they played against each other, on the occasion of Bhaichung Bhutia's testimonial match. In the first half itself they had scored four goals with India finding no apparent answer to the relentless German onslaught.

Surprisingly, in the second half, India managed to hold on to a clean sheet. That was partly due to Bayern taking their foot off the pedal and partly because of the lively Indian youngsters who came on after the break.

Never mind the result, the occasion was historic. It was after a long interval  that a top European club side had played on Indian soil. On top of that, this was no reserve side that took the field as the Robbens and the Riberys were on show to enthrall the Indian football fans with their superlative skills. The match was all the more special as this was the last time that Indian football legend, Bhaichung Bhutia was be seen in India colours.

Goal.com asks the football fans from across India, whether they would now be following Bayern Munich more keenly after they saw them outplaying their own National team..

Champions League

Yeah, I will, cause my favourite   team Liverpool aren't in the Champions League this year, I've always liked Bayern cause of their quality players like Muller, Schweinsteiger, Gomez, Robben, Ribery...

Won't follow them that keenly in the Bundesliga though because I am not that much into German football.

I will not be following Bayern much although their coming to India will certainly increase their fan base.

Mainly becaus of the  pace of the game, star value and glamour attached with EPL and La Liga, Bundesliga still has to cover some distance.
Champions League

No, I will be supporting Arsenal.

Champions League

Yeah, I will follow them in (2nd choice team after Manchester United).
Jeetu Sur
Bundesliga

I follow them because I love their game and not because they came to India.

Uttiyo Sarkar Bundesliga

One of my best friends is a die hard Bayern fan so I do follow both Bayern and Bundesliga. I don't watch that many live matches but do see the highlights whenever it comes on TV.
Champions League

Naah, I won't be rooting for anyone. But I hope that either Barca or Madrid wins it as they clearly deserve it.

Champions League

Although I support Arsenal in the EPL, my primary club is always Bayern Munich. So I will root for them anyway.

The India trip hardly matters as I am an ardent follower of Bayern Munich, in any case.

Being a Manchester United supporter there is already lot to follow in the EPL and Bayern play in a league which isn't as good as them, so what I know is enough, don't need to follow them closely just because they came to India.
Champions League

I would support the team that plays the best football.

Champions League

The fact that they came to India doesn't change my perception of them.

Since I am a fan of Manchester City as well as FC Barcelona I would support FCB in the Champions League.

I don't follow the German league as keenly as the Spanish or the English leagues. Most people I know who support Bayern are ones who are fans of Germany as an international football team. Since I am not, I'm neutral about them.

Jibak Sahu
Bundesliga

I follow Bayern in any case and would want them to be crowned Bundesliga champions.

Primarily this is because I support the German national team.
Champions League

I have a soft spot for Bayern, so want them to lift the title. Yeah, and they deserve it as well. Moroever since Manchester United are out of the competition, I will be rooting for them.

Champions League

Absolutely not. I am now a neutral viewer with regards to the Champions League. But yes, I do believe Bayern have a good chance of winning the CL this season. Although their defense could be found wanting in the big games. Only time will tell.

No. Also, I really doubt that one friendly match in which they thrashed the Indian national team will generate a lot of fanfare in the country.

I follow Bundesliga anyway....not that I support Bayern.. It's because I find it much more interesting than Spanish football or Italian. Although, EPL is the best.
Champions League

I wouldn't be rooting for anyone in particular this season in the Champions League.

What do you think? Will You follow the Bundesliga more closely now that Bayern Played in India? Will You Follow them in the Champions League If Your favourite team is not there?
