Defending champions Bengal stormed into the final of the 65th Santosh Trophy after beating a formidable Railways side 1-0 at Guwahati on Friday.
Bengal enjoyed the early exchanges and then took the lead in the 38th minute when United Sikkim striker Budiram Tudu found the back of the net.
It was an effort from the top of the box which went past Railways goalkeeper Satish Kumar.
Shabbir Ali’s boys defended well in the second half with Chirag United defender Anupam Sarkar having a solid outing.
Branco Cardozo could have doubled Bengal's advantage but was denied by a good save from Satish Kumar.
Shabbir Ali's side held on for the narrow win and will now meet Manipur in the final on Monday, 30th May.
