Bengal Players Felicitated For Winning Santosh Trophy, Cash Bonuses Rules The Roost

Legendary footballers Sailen Manna, P K Banerjee, Chuni Goswami graced the occasion to meet the new torch bearers of Bengal football. The commissioner of Police in Kolkata awarded special memento to each member of the winning squad.

Bengal sponsors Tower Group, who had initially planned to take the entire squad to Malaysia, decided to gift Rs.5 lakhs to the team as most players won't be available for the trip due to their club committments.

Chirag group also announced a prize money of Rs.5 lakhs so did the IFA. West Bengal Government has also decided to give Rs.10 lakhs.
Goal.com caught up with Bengal captain Snehashish Chakraborty.
Speaking about the grand felicitation the Mohun Bagan midfielder said, “It is a great feeling. This program shall inspire more people to play for their state sides as many players opt not to play in the Santosh Trophy.”
