Mizoram and Kerala contested an evenly fought pre-quarterfinal, which was eventually won by the former by a solitary goal.

East Bengal midfielder Beikhokhei won it for Mizoram with a strike little after the hour mark.

Five time winners Kerala will thus return home empty handed while Mizoram march on to the last eight of the competition with a hope of winning their first ever title.

Mizoram will now have to fight it out with Tamil Nadu, West Bengal and Delhi in Group B of the quarter final round. While Group A consists of defending champions Goa, Karnataka, Services and Punjab.
