Pochettino confident of keeping Southampton star Lallana

A string of impressive displays have reportedly sparked interest from the likes of Manchester United and Liverpool, but the Saints boss has "no intention" to sell the midfielder
Southampton manager Mauricio Pochettino has issued a hands-off warning to clubs interested in signing Adam Lallana.

Lallana's burgeoning reputation has sparked speculation linking the 25-year-old midfielder with the likes of Premier League champions Manchester United and title-hopefuls Liverpool.

Pochettino, though, has insisted that he is under no pressure to sell the homegrown England international as the rumour mills goes into overdrive ahead of the January transfer window opening next week.

"I think Adam and other players are going to stay with us, there is no intention to sell them," Pochettino told reporters.

"In the case of Adam, he is happy with us, he has shown he is happy at Southampton and the club has no intention of selling this player."

Pochettino, who took charge last January, is enjoying his first taste of the hectic December fixture list in English football and confidence is high at Southampton following the 3-0 win at Cardiff City on Thursday.

He added: "Right now, I'm enjoying football more than ever. We're getting to do what we like and we're thoroughly enjoying this busy period.

"The fans are also enjoying this moment so that makes it even better for us. For someone who is really passionate about football this period is amazing, it is a new experience for me and I'm thoroughly enjoying it."
