Churchill release Adesope, mulling over the future of Antchouet and Machado

The defending champions have parted ways with the Nigerian defender after the club was unimpressed with his performances…

Churchill Brothers have released Hameed Adesope and are on the lookout of a defender before the I-League resumes after the international break.

The former Kienlongbank Kien Giang defender represented the Goan giants in seven league matches and with the club placed second from bottom, the management has decided to do away with his services.

Earlier Syrian striker Ahmed Al Kaddour was axed after failing to score in the four matches he played. It is reliably learnt that Henri Antchouet, who has struggled with injuries this season with only four appearances made, is also on his way out. However, there is a rumuored interest from another I-League club in the Gabonese striker which could prevent the Red Machines from parting ways with him.

Hugo Machado, who has impressed in bits, could also get the chop with the management expected to take a decision later this week.

Technical director Subhash Bhowmick has pointed towards the poor fitness levels of his players following the 3-2 defeat at the hands of United SC earlier this month. As a consequence, the club has organized a mini pre-season for the players with two training and a session in the gymnasium daily.

This is not it as the club is facing financial hardships as they struggled to rope in a sponsor despite having won the league title last season.
