The Eagles had been close to securing a loan move for Arsenal forward Nicklas Bendtner, but the Gunners' failure to sign a replacement meant Ian Holloway was forced to switch his attentions to the Stoke striker.

"Cameron Jerome has left Stoke City to join Premier League new boys Crystal Palace on a season-long loan," read a statement on the club's official website.

"The club thanks Cameron for his efforts as a Stoke player and wishes him well at Selhurst Park."

The 27-year-old, who joined the Potters from Birmingham in 2011, scored 12 goals in 60 appearances for the Britannia Stadium outfit.

Palace had a busy deadline day, bringing in Jack Hunt, Adrian Mariappa and Barry Bannan in addition to Jerome, whose only appearance this term came off the bench in a 2-1 over the Eagles.
