Al Shabab do Ronaldinho U-turn

The Brazilian had been linked with a move to Asia but the club have had a change of heart after hearing his valuation, slamming the player's attitude

United Arab Emirates club Al Shabab have called off their pursuit of Ronaldinho, branding the Brazil international him overpriced and uncontrollable.

The Atletico Mineiro attacker, 33, had been linked with a move to Asia after the club revealed that they were looking into the possibility of signing the former Barcelona star.

However, in a remarkable U-turn, the club have back-tracked on their interest in the player following being told of his €6 million valuation and slammed the player's attitude.

"We wrote back to Ronaldinho's agent last week and declined his offer," the club's vice-president Khalid Bu Humaid, who had previously questioned who wouldn't want the Brazilian, told Gulf News.

"He's just overpriced and the second thing is his attitude off the field. If they could not control him at Barcelona then he can't be controlled at Dubai."

Ronaldinho currently has just under six months left on his deal with Brasileirao side Atletico Mineiro.
