East Bengal have signed the Goan striker who had represented Dempo for the last nine seasons...Joaquim Abranches has agreed a deal with East Bengal for the two seasons after having served Dempo SC for the last nine years.
Santosh Bhattacharya, the football secretary of the century old club, confirmed the same to Goal.
“Yes, we have signed Joaquim on a two year deal. I hope that he will contribute to strengthen our attack."
The Red and Gold side now have one of the deadliest strike force in James Moga, Chidi Edeh and Joaquim Abranches
The futures of Robin Sinngh and Manandeep Singh look up in the air as neither managed to stake a claim in the first eleven despite several opportunities being afforded by former coach Trevor Morgan.
Bhattacharya informed that Robin has asked for a release despite having a year on his contract. While Manandeep chose to go ahead with a surgery without informing the club management.
“Manandeep opted for a surgery in his injured leg without consulting the club once. So, we are not considering him for the next season’s squad."
