Verratti vital to PSG future, says Ancelotti

The Italian coach has talked up the potential of his compatriot, insisting he will not consider allowing the midfield starlet to move away from Parc des Princes
Paris Saint-Germain boss Carlo Ancelotti has quashed rumours linking Marco Verratti with a move away from the club, stressing his importance to the future of the Ligue 1 side.

The Italy international has been linked with a move to Real Madrid as well as a return to his homeland with Juventus but Ancelotti has insisted he has no intention of letting one of the club's brightest young players move on after just a single season in France.

"For a debut season, he has played very well," he told a press conference on Saturday. "He will be a very important player for the future of PSG and Italy. The important players to PSG stay at PSG."

Verratti has made 38 appearances in all competitions for the Ligue 1 leaders this season.

PSG can move nine points clear of second-placed Olympique de Marseille with just three games remaining if they defeat Valenciennes on Sunday, all-but-mathematically wrapping the division title up.
