The Santos coach has heaped praise on the forward amid rumours of a summer switch to Camp NouMario Felipe Peres has referred to Neymar as “one of the best players in the world” and insists that he is ready for a move to Barcelona.
The Santos coach knows the forward's capabilities better than most, and maintains that he has the quality necessary to have success with the Catalans.
“Barcelona is one of the best clubs in the world. Neymar has quality to not just play at the club, but to succeed and to triumph in Barcelona,” he told La Xarxa.
“The decision to go to Europe now or later is up to him. Barcelona is fit for his playing style. He is an excellent player, has great quality and is very fast.
“He is one of the best players in the world, he is so young and has so much more quality and will continue to improve and mature.”
Peres added that while Neymar is ready for his long anticipated move to Europe, he would prefer to prolong his working relationship with the striker.
“We would like to have a lot more time with him in Santos. Neymar is a spectacular kid, a good friend and very happy. He plays soccer with great joy and responsibility.”
