Arveladze: Burak could be successful at Man United
The former Rangers striker currently coach in Turkey at Kasimpasaspor and thinks the 27-year-old can play for any of Europe’s top clubs
Shota Arveladze has heaped praise on Galatasaray striker Burak Yilmaz by declaring he is good enough to be a success at Manchester United. The Turkey international has been in fine form this season and is currently the top goal-scorer in the Super Lig with 16 goals in 21 games, and is tied at the top goal-scorer list in the Champions League this season alongside Cristiano Ronaldo with eight goals.
With the form he has shown domestically and in Europe this season, Kasimpasaspor coach Shota Arveladze has no qualms about Burak's ability and has called on Sir Alex Ferguson to sign him for Manchester United.
"None of the former clubs of Burak treated him patiently," Arveladze told Sabah. "Although Trabzonspor and Galatasaray trusted him and that helped him to improve.
"If he will sign for foreign clubs, he can be very successful. He could play at the same place where [Javier] Hernandez plays at, Manchester United. If I was at Ferguson's place, I would definitely sign him."
Burak stuttered early on in his career, failing to secure permanent places at top clubs in Turkey such as Besiktas and Fenerbahce.
It was Trabzonspor who took a risk with the player and he repaid in kind by helping them to a runners-up spot in the Super Lig in 2011, contributing 19 goals in the process.
The following season he amassed an 33 goals in 34 games in the Super Lig which earned him his big move to Galatasaray.
