Taffarel advises Valdes to move to Brazil
The former Selecao goalkeeper believes his homeland would be a good destination for the Spaniard after he leaves Camp Nou in 2014
Taffarel says Barcelona's Victor Valdes should consider a move to Brazil when he departs the club at the end of next season. The 31-year-old revealed his intention to leave Camp Nou back in January, citing a desire to experience football in a different country upon the expiration of his contract in 2014.
That announcement has since led to continued speculation as to where Valdes will ply his trade next and now Brazil goalkeeping legend Taffarel has offered his thoughts and advised him on a switch to his homeland.
"Why shouldn't Valdes go to Brazil? They now pay well," he told La Xarxa.
"In Brazil they are attracting returning players. Valdes is a great goalkeeper and could play for any of the big teams in Brazil."
Valdes has spent his entire career with the Blaugrana after coming through the club's famous La Masia youth system and made his debut back in 2002.
