Fiorentina's Jovetic fuels Manchester City rumours
The Premier League champions have negotiated a first option agreement for the 23-year-old with Fiorentina, who would prefer not to sell to domestic rivals Juventus
Fiorentina star Stevan Jovetic has fuelled speculation of a summer move to Manchester City by admitting he wants to test himself with a bigger club.Earlier this month Goal.com revealed City have negotiated a first-option agreement with the Viola for Jovetic, who is unwilling to increase the current release clause in his contract, believed to be around €30 million.
And while the Montenegrin striker did not directly address the interest of the Premier League champions, he did admit he feels ready to move on to bigger and better things.
"It's better to play in a team where you know you are a starting player, but in life you have to grow and test yourself," he told Gazzetta Dello Sport. "It's a risk that I would face.
"There are three categories of players: those like Totti, who chose to stay in their home, the team where they're born - a choice I would have made if I had stayed in Belgrade - those that stay in a place because they have fear to move, and those that fear can't stop. Me? I have no fear."
Serie A leaders Juventus are also long-term admirers of the 23-year-old, but earlier this month Fiorentina director Daniele Prade revealed the club would prefer not to sell their star man to a domestic rival.
