Immobile is not leaving Genoa for Juventus, insists Preziozi
The Grifone supremo has quashed rumours linking his young star with a move to the Old Lady, while he is hopeful he can wrap up a deal for Reto Ziegler
Genoa president Enrico Preziosi has refuted suggestions striker Ciro Immobile could be on his way to Juventus.Rumours have resurfaced this week that the Serie A champions are interested in tempting the 22-year-old to Turin, as their search for a top striker continues.
However, the Rossoblu chief has made it clear that he will not allow Immobile to leave for the Bianconeri, who own a 50 per cent share of the player.
“Immobile is too important to us,” he told Sky Sport Italia.
“We do not want to talk to anyone about him. Juventus may have hinted at his transfer, but we are not interested in what they have to say."
Preziosi is hoping to bring in Reto Ziegler, however, with the player currently on loan at Lokomotiv Moscow from Juve.
“We have spoken to Ziegler and negotiations are ongoing, but we are just waiting for the approval of the player," said the 64-year-old chief.
Despite Grifone sitting in the relegation places, Immobile has shone at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris with five goals and two assists to his name this season.
