Espanyol in pole position to sign Pabon, says Perarnau
Sporting director Oscar Perarnau has confirmed that the Catalan club are interested in the Colombian striker, who could leave Parma less than 12 months after joining
Espanyol director Oscar Perarnau has confirmed that his side are in "pole position" to sign Parma striker Dorlan Pabon. The 24-year-old signed a five-year deal with the Serie A side in a €4 million transfer in June 2012, but has struggled to make an impact in Italy, with his sole goal coming in the Coppa Italia against Catania.
Perarnau stated that his side are trying to sign the Colombian, but confirmed that they are facing competition for his signature from other potential suitors.
"We want to sign Pabon, but it will not be an easy process considering there are many teams interested in him," the Catalan club chief told Radio Catalunya. "However, we are in pole position."
Pabon signed for Parma from Colombian side Atletico Nacional and has played 12 times in the Italian top flight this season without netting once.
