It would be disrespectful for Barcelona to talk about Song, says Vilanova
The new Barca trainer has remained coy over his side's supposed interest in the Cameroon international after Andres Iniesta and Sergio Busquets previously praised him
Barcelona coach Tito Vilanova has refused to comment on the Catalans' alleged interest in midfielder Alexandre Song, as he feels it would show a lack of respect towards Arsenal.Sergio Busquets and Andres Iniesta recently voiced their admiration for the Cameroon international when asked about his qualities, but the newly-appointed trainer chose to avoid being drawn in on discussing a rival team's player.
"I prefer to not talk about players that are not part of the Barca team. I think it is disrespectful to other teams if we talk about players that are not part of Barcelona," Vilanova told reporters.
"Whoever comes must be a good player, that is what is important. There is no rush."
Song, now 24, has developed into an important first-team member at the Gunners since joining them from Bastia in August 2005.
His contract with Arsenal runs until the summer of 2015.
