The youngster has left his Rojo team-mates and their pre-season preparations, and is expected to seal a move to Greece for the coming campaign
La Nacion reports that the midfielder, 22, was accompanied by his father on Tuesday as he left Independiente's pre-season training base in Tandil. According to the newspaper, the reason for Patito's sudden departure was the arrival of a bid from the Greek giants, who are keen to add the youngster to their squad for 2012-13.
Olympiakos have reportedly offered €1.5 million for 50 per cent of the player's rights, a figure identical to one previously tabled by Torino. The Piraeus-based club, however, have also pledged to clear a debt held over Independiente related to the sale of Leonel Nunez.
Rodriguez, who can play in an advanced midfield position as well as out wide or as a second striker, made his debut for the Avellaneda club in 2008 at the tender age of 17.
He lifted one title with his boyhood club, playing in the side that won the Copa Sudamericana trophy in 2010 under the direction of Antonio Mohamed.
