The Argentine legend had threatened to 'pack his bags' and walk away from the Dubai club after a lack of recruitment, but has now backed down and will honour his contract
The former Argentina national team coach had made several recent outbursts threatening to walk away from the club over perceived unkept promises on a lack of player recruitment.
However, Maradona met with bin Bayat and senior club officials late in the week, the Argentine has decided to see out his contract, which has one year still to run.
An Al Wasl statement said Maradona "acknowledged that his recent outbursts were not in the best interests of the team and that he understands the club’s disappointment".
Maradona also reiterated he wouldn't be leaving "under any circumstances" and said he was boosted by the club's "strategic plan for next season".
It remains to be seen, if an agreement has been struck with regard to new signings, however officials will meet in the next few weeks to discuss recruitment for the 2012-13 campaign after a disappointing first term under Maradona.
