Chelsea starlet Gael Kakuta appears to be on his way to Dijon on a six-month loan deal as the club's head coach Patrice Carteron has revealed that the 20-year-old informed him of his wish to move to the Ligue 1 side.

Previous reports suggested that Nice were sitting in pole position to secure the services of Kakuta until the end of the season, but Carteron is confident that the youngster will end up at the Stade Gaston Gerard instead.

"There's only a gentleman's agreement. Gael has confirmed to me that he has made the decision to come to Dijon," Carteron said to RMC.

"[Chelsea manager] Andre Villas-Boas also agrees with the move, but he has yet to convince the Chelsea board. They will have to put in an effort financially to make sure Gael can play at Dijon for a few months."

Kakuta has also been linked with Olympique de Marseille and Saint-Etienne.
