Former Barcelona star Guillermo Amor, currently technical director of the club's youth academy, has taken the time to praise coach Pep Guardiola, and is confident that the successful trainer will stay with the Catalans.

The 40-year-old boss has an expiring contract with the Spanish champions, and has yet to make a decision about his future.

However, Amor is hopeful that Guardiola will extend his stay with the Blaugrana.

"What interests Barcelona the most at the moment is that Guardiola stays at the club and we think that will happen as it would be good for every one involved," Amor was quoted as saying by Barca TV.

"Pep is very committed to Barcelona and has a lot of faith in the players at the club. That gives us confidence that he will stay. I hope that he will continue working at Barca for many more years.

"He has a great personality, knows a lot about football, is a true professional, and is a real Barcelonista. He really has it all."

Guardiola has guided Barca to three La Liga titles, two Champions League trophies and two Club World Cups among other silverware since taking charge in the summer of 2008.
