Federico Macheda’s agent has admitted that the striker is likely to look for playing time away from Manchester United in January.
The 20-year-old, who spent time on loan at Sampdoria last season, has made just two substitute appearances so far this term, with manager Sir Alex Ferguson confirming his belief in recent weeks that the Italian needs to play more games.
The forward’s representative, Giovanni Bia, is quoted by Sportal as saying: “I spoke last week with Ferguson: I think that Federico will play somewhere else in January.
“He can no longer continue to be on the field for only 15 or 20 minutes, he must absolutely find more space.
“There are requests, but not from Italy. In the first week of January we will evaluate the proposals that we've received.
“Macheda's departure, however, has nothing to do with the elimination from the Champions League of United.”
The Rome-born striker burst onto the scene at the end of the 2008-09 season when he scored on his maiden first-team appearance for the Red Devils against Aston Villa, but has found opportunities limited ever since.
