AC Milan's new signing Stephan El Shaarawy has done nothing to play down any comparisons with former Rossoneri great Kaka. Much is expected of the 18-year old, despite the fact that he made only a handful of appearances for his former club Genoa.
"Do I resemble Kaka? Many people have told me that. (Adriano) Galliani also expressed his hope that I will become like him," he told Corriere dello Sport.
"Would I like to play with him? Maybe it would be better not to as he could take my place in the team."
El Shaarawy went on to describe his attributes as a player and admitted that while he may have the potential, he is still very much at the beginning of his career: "I think I have the same technical characteristics as Kaka, especially with regard to my dribbling."
"I may not have the experience but I have great desire and a lot of courage. As for my role in the team, I can play both as a playmaker and a second striker, just like Kaka."
The precocious youngster, who is of Egyptian origin but represents Italy at under-19 level, is looking forward to meeting Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri and putting on the Milan shirt, emblazoned with his chosen number 92, after the year of his birth.
