Barcelona are readying a £40 million move for Tottenham midfielder Gareth Bale, and manager Harry Redknapp feels the only way for him to keep the Welshman would be for Spurs to secure a place in the Champions League next season – according to a report in The People.
The 21-year-old Welshman, currently 62nd in the Castrol Rankings, has enjoyed a breakthrough season at White Hart Lane, and is arguably Europe’s most wanted youngster following a successful campaign adorned by an impressive hat-trick at the San Siro against Inter in October.
Barca coach Pep Guardiola has been told by his scouts that Bale is the real deal, a player tipped to become the next Dani Alves.
It has been reported that the Catalan giants will either offer £40m in cash for Bale, or include striker Bojan Krkic in a deal to land the Spurs star.
