Barcelona Striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic Is Not Joining Real Madrid In Swap Deal Involving Kaka - Agent
Raiola denies press speculation...
By Chris Myson
The agent of Zlatan Ibrahimovic has dismissed suggestions that his client is set to leave Barcelona for fierce rivals Real Madrid in a swap deal involving Kaka.
Reports from Spain earlier on Thursday indicated a sensational switch could be possible, with new Los Blancos coach Jose Mourinho apparently keen to be re-united with Ibrahimovic, who he worked with at Inter.
After an unspectacular debut season at the Camp Nou, Sweden striker Ibrahimovic has consistently been the subject of transfer rumours, despite his desire to stay with the La Liga champions.
"I have never spoken to Madrid or anyone about a possible swap with Kaka,” the player’s agent Mino Raiola told COM Radio. “I don't know anything about this issue.
"Zlatan has a contract with Barca and he wants to show his quality when he is playing at 100%.
“Ibra is totally focused on the team and is anxious to start the new season as a Barca player."
Competition for starting spots in the Barcelona side is likely to be as fierce as ever this season, with World Cup winner David Villa – a summer signing from Valencia – joining the likes of Lionel Messi and Pedro Rodriguez, who enjoyed stunning campaigns in 2009-10.
