Sevilla president Jose Maria Del Nido has dampened AC Milan's hopes of signing Brazil striker Luis Fabiano.
His response comes 24 hours after Rossoneri CEO Adriano Galliani claimed he hoped Fabiano would head to San Siro after a botched move last year when negotiations ended with no deal.
But Del Nido claims the club are ready to offer the experienced hitman a new contract, rather than sell him to Milan.
"We are negotiating with the player over the renewal of his contract. There has not been any contact with Milan," said the chief to La Repubblica.
The player's agent, Jose Fuentes, encouraged Milan to make a move when he said a deal was possible on Tuesday.
