Chelsea To Make £25m Offer For Real Madrid Defender Sergio Ramos - Report

Chelsea will look to strengthen manager Carlo Ancelotti's defensive options this summer by making a £25 million (€30m) bid for Real Madrid right-back Sergio Ramos, according to a report from Spanish daily Sport.

Keen to add a full-back who offers more attacking variety than the steady Branislav Ivanovic, Blues boss Carlo Ancelotti apparently hopes to lure the defender to Stamford Bridge with the promise of playing in his preferred right-back role, rather than in the heart of the defence where he often features for Real.

With new Blancos coach Jose Mourinho apparently set to intensify his pursuit of Inter full-back Maicon, Ramos, 24, may see his future lying elsewhere.

Ancelotti reportedly believes that the player's style would make him a hit in the Premier League, having been a stalwart performer for Real since joining them from Sevilla in 2006.
