Arsenal On The Verge Of An £8m Bid For Lorient Defender Laurent Koscielny - Report

Arsenal are believed to be keen on securing the services of Lorient defender Laurent Koscielny, who is supposed to have been valued at £8 million.
The Gunners bought Thomas Vermaelen from Ajax last summer, but the Daily Mail reports that Arsene Wenger is looking to replenish his back-line owing to the uncertainty surrounding whether or not Sol Campbell, Mikael Silvestre and William Gallas will remain at the Emirates next season.
The 24-year-old Koscielny impressed with Tours before making a move to the Ligue 1 club last year, signing a four-year deal after a fee of about £1.2m exchanged hands.
The centre-half has since gone on to play a pivotal role in guiding his side to a seventh placed finish in the domestic circuit in France.
