EXCLUSIVE: Almeria Goalkeeper Diego Alves Pleased By Juventus & Milan Interest
The Brazilian shot-stopper believes interest from big clubs are a testament to his great season...
By Fabrizio Ponciroli
Milan and Juventus target Diego Alves has told Goal.com he is delighted with the interest he has received from clubs across Europe as he reflected upon a stellar season with Spanish club Almeria.
The Brazilian goalkeeper is the only man in Spain to have saved a Cristiano Ronaldo penalty this term, and he has been linked to a plethora of sides.
"How can I not be happy," he told Goal.com when asked his thoughts about interest from big clubs.
"It's a reward for all my hard work and for a positive season that has just concluded.
"I have been here for three years and I have improved year after year. This is my best year so far and I think this is why the teams are interested in me."
His top season was not enough to convince Brazil coach Carlos Dunga to include him in the World Cup squad. But Alves believes that a call will arrive in future.
"I knew that the group had been already decided. Dunga is a great coach and he faces difficult choices.
"Brazil have plenty of players of high quality, but there are only 23 places.
"I will always try my best so I can put him in difficulty."
