Adriano Galliani Drops Filippo Galli Hint For Milan Job
The former defender is commended for his work at youth level.
By Vince Masiello
Milan chief executive Adriano Galliani has singled out Filippo Galli for special praise, fuelling speculation that the club legend will get the nod to succeed outgoing boss Leonardo.
The duo composed of Galli and former team-mate Mauro Tassotti are in the frame to take over from the Brazilian this summer.
The Milan Primavera side, managed by Giovanni Stroppa, qualified for the final eight of the championship yesterday after knocking out Catania 3-2 on aggregate and Galliani anointed Galli, who is the director of the club’s youth academy.
“My compliments go out to Stroppa, but also to Galli who is managing the entire youth area,” the official beamed on Milan Channel.
“It is an important win, I’m very happy for the Primavera team but also for the entire youth academy.
“In the future, Milan’s objective will be to secure the most promising youngsters to blood into the first team.”
