Real Madrid are interested in signing Barcelona youth team player Marc Bartra, according to Spanish sports daily Marca. The 19-year-old central defender, who can also play as a right back, measures 1.84 metres tall and has caught the attention of Los Blancos, who are hoping to bring the youngster to the Spanish capital.
Batra became the 12th youth player to debut under Barca coach Pep Guardiola with the first team when he played for nearly 30 minutes in Barcelona's loss to Atletico de Madrid in the Vicente Calderon. Bartra's contract with Barca expires this year, after which the youngster will be able to leave on a free transfer.
Madrid's interest in Bartra comes on the heels of interest expressed by Barca in Real's Pablo Sarabia, one of the most promising players to come through the Madrid youth system in quite some time.
