Real Madrid's Move For Inter Defender Maicon Back On - Report
Los Blancos are back
By Salvatore Landolina
Club president Florentino Perez is eager to start the next phase of his project and he has reportedly made the right-back position a priority in an attempt to match Barcelona who have Dani Alves on the flank.
Maicon is seen as the ideal candidate as he can defend and attack. He falls in line with the team's views of samba-style football, and the club are keen to re-open talks with him.
Last year Madrid spent all summer trying to land the Brazilian, but Inter resisted pressure and the move failed.
But the club are now set to make another ambitious bid for him by making contact with agent Antonio Caliendo. Maicon is contracted to Inter until 2012, and landing him will be tough.
However, it is believed that if Nerazzurri coach Jose Mourinho joins Real Madrid, as reported by Marca just days ago, it will be easier to convince Maicon to follow suit.
