Manchester City are ready to make a lucrative offer for Roma midfielder Daniele De Rossi.

Il Corriere Dello Sport claims Roberto Mancini has handed directors a list of players he wants at the club. And De Rossi is number one.

But the move all depends on whether the Italian coach is confirmed for next season. That is linked with whether he can deliver Champions League football.

However, a storm of opposition is likely to come from Trigoria as Roma have no intention of selling the player who has always been seen as heir to Francesco Totti's throne as the archetypal one-club man.
