Liverpool Close To Securing Pre-Contract Deal For Standard Liege's Milan Jovanovic - Report
The 28-year-old, who is available on a free transfer in the summer, has been scouted by a number of top European sides, but the Merseysiders appear to have won the race to sign the highly rated Serb.
Milan had previously appeared to be in the driving seat for Jovanovic although, speaking in January, the Liege star had said that he hadn't agreed any deal with the Italian giants and that Liverpool were interested.
"News that I have already said yes to AC Milan is not correct. I am still waiting, I haven’t decided," he said.
"AC Milan are not the only club interested in me.
"There is also Liverpool and another big European club. I repeat - my options are still very open."
Reports now suggest that the Reds are close to sealing the deal for Jovanovic, who has scored 50 goals in 109 appearances for Liege since joining them in 2006.
