Lajong Gen Secretary Issues "Hands Off" Warning To Other Clubs Over Star Striker Tuboi

Buried Alive: Shillong Lajong's Tuboi Exults After Scoring Against Churchill Brothers In The Federation Cup Semis (Mango Peel)
The Federation Cup was more of a fairytale for Shillong Lajong, as they defied the odds to top their group which had the likes of Pune FC, Dempo, and Air India, and then beat I-League champions Churchill Brothers in the semi final, only to lose in heartbreaking fashion against East Bengal in the final.

If we had to choose one man who shone throughout the tournament for the Shillong side, it would have to be their diminutive striker, Seikhohao Tuboi, who is now emerging as one of India's hottest prospects.

Many clubs are now keeping a close eye on the striker, especially Kolkata clubs, who are known to, but Lajong General Secretary Larsing Sawyan doesn't want to get involved in such discussions. Speaking to Goal.com, he said, "I really don't want to get into all this. In any case, I had a talk with all the boys, and told them to remain focussed on the game for the next six months, and to behave professionally.

"Once the league is over in the summer, then we can sit down and have a look at ourselves and our players, and decide how to move forward."

Sawyan then sent out a warning message to the rest of the clubs wanting to snatch Tuboi away from the Shillong club.

"I think no one should underestimate Shillong Lajong anymore. If teams can buy players from us, they should know that we can buy players from them too. We are going to reach that level very soon", he signed off.
