Nemanja Vidic '100 Per Cent' Committed To Manchester United

Serb debunks transfer rumours and says "little things" were Devils' undoing...

EPL: Nemanja Vidic, Manchester United v Hull City (PA)
Hot on the heels of Manchester United's surprise Champions League loss to Besiktas, Nemanja Vidic has waved away the suggestion that he could quit the club if his contract demands are not met.

The Serbian centre-back has been linked to some of Europe's powerhouse clubs in recent weeks, including Barcelona, Real Madrid and Milan.

However, Vidic insisted that he was "100 per cent" committed to the Red Devils' cause and that he had not been pressuring his bosses for an improved deal.

Speaking after the 1-0 reverse to the Turkish champions, he said: "I never said I'm unsettled. Other people say that and write about it. I can't fight against that. I don't want to keep talking about these things.

"I'm happy here. I don't want to push the club for a new contract, I don't want to push anybody. I'm happy here and I think I showed that in the games. I want to be part of the team every game and give 100 per cent."

Sir Alex Ferguson fielded a youthful side on Wednesday night, and Vidic suggested that perhaps the lack of experience in the starting lineup contributed to the result.

"I think small things make the difference. One chance, if you don't take it, changes the game," the Serb said.

"I think we had a few chances today and it was a hard game for them [young players]. Besiktas defended with 10 players and in the end they got the result.

"Looking at the big picture, we're not happy we've lost, especally to lose an unbeaten record of 23 games. It's bad, but it happens, it's football."
