Roman Pavlyuchenko's agent has welcomed news of a potential move to Italian side Roma, unlocking the door for the Tottenham Hotspur striker.

Interest from the Lupi dates back to the summer transfer window, when reports claimed they were monitoring the striker's situation in north London.

Pavlyuchenko's agent, Oliver Wendt, has paved the way for negotiations to begin.

"If Tottenham say 'yes' and Roma say 'yes' than the deal for Pavlyuchenko could go ahead," the agent told Romagiallorossa.com.

"[Roma director] Daniele Prade was in London to learn about the situation further, but we do not know Roma's real intentions.

"The player will certainly leave Tottenham as he wanted to leave them in the summer.

"The Roma deal could happen, but we have to see the intentions of the club. In any case, Roman would have no problem moving to the Italian capital."
