Fiorentina Set Deadline For Transfer Of Arsenal's Eboue

The Ivory Coast international's move to Serie A hangs in the balance...

EPL: Emmanuel Eboue, Tottenham - Arsenal (PA)
With Fiorentina's Champions League campaign set to begin August 18, the club are looking to strengthen the side as quickly as possible.

They have been involved in lengthly negotiations with Arsenal for Emmanuel Eboue, but according to The Nation, sporting director Pantaleo Corvino is running out of patience.

The Viola official has apparently set a deadline of Wednesday for acquiring the versatile 26-year-old, who is seemingly surplus to requirements at the Emirates.

The Italians want a definite answer to their bid, which is reportedly short of the Gunner's asking price.Should the deal fail to materialise, Fiorentina will start looking at other options, including Roma right-back Marco Cassetti.

Eboue made 43 appearances for the London club last season in all competitions, over a third of them as a substitute, scoring four goals in the process.
