Reports within the Turkish media linking Chelsea misfit Andriy Shevchenko to Super Lig giants Fenerbahce continue to escalate with revelations that the Ukranian international has sought the advice of a retired Internazionale footballer in order to find out the intricacies of Turkish football, the club in question, and the league as a whole.

Hakan Sukur, a friend of Shevchenko's, has revealed to NTV Spor earlier this morning that the former AC Milan hotshot, once revered as the hottest striker in world football, contacted him to talk about a potential move to Fener. Furthermore, he stated that Shevchenko's manager enquired about the Istanbul-based outfit.

Shevchenko could be keen on a move away from Chelsea, a side where he has continuously struggled for form, and has failed to live up to his weighty price-tag of £30 million. The player is now speculated to leave Stamford Bridge should an offer exceeding €7m be tabled.

It is yet unclear whether Fenerbahce are willing to meet the aforementioned valuation, due to the fact that Shevchenko is fast approaching his 33rd birthday, and has entered the final year of his contract.
