Ribery And Xabi Alonso Are Out Of Real Madrid's Price Range - Jorge Valdano

With a lot of money already spent, it is not clear how much more Madrid have to buy players this summer...

Real Madrid general director Jorge Valdano has acknowledged that as far as the signings of Franck Ribery and Xabi Alonso go, the prices are too high at the moment.

The Spanish side have been linked with moves for both Ribery and Alonso but Bayern Munich have reportedly put an €80 million price-tag on the head of their winger.

With regards to Alonso, Liverpool are apparently keen not to sell the midfielder and Madrid have already had two bids rejected for the Spaniard.

In an interview with El partido de la Una, Valdano was asked about the situation with Alonso, and said at the moment a deal is far away.

"Xabi Alonso is a priority if he fits into our budget, but that does not seem to be the case. We are very far away from the figures that Liverpool have presented," he explained.

Likewise, Valdano acknowledged that Bayern's valuation of Frenchman Ribery has all but put Madrid off buying him at all.

"It is a figure that is out of place. It is the same thing as them saying that they do not want to sell him," he mused.
