Italian striker Luca Toni had also been linked with the exit door at the club following the €30 million signing of Mario Gomez from VfB Stuttgart.
However, the club's sporting director, Christian Nerlinger, has now assured that the pair will be staying at the Allianz Arena.
"Luca will have to fight for his position and Lucio is in the plans of Louis Van Gaal," he told TZ.
