Barcelona Close In On Almeria Right-Back Bruno - Report

The player’s agent has revealed that the ‘Tricampeon’ are on the verge of completing their first off-season signing.

Almeria’s promising right-back, Bruno had an agreement to sign for Real Betis for next season, but the Verdiblancos’ shock relegation from the Primera Division has scuppered the deal.

The 28-year-old, who has already confirmed his exit from the Mediterraneo this summer, is now being tracked by Valencia and Barcelona, but the Blaugrana are reported in pole position to secure his signature.

According to Cadena SER, the player’s agent has already met twice with representatives from the Catalan titans and an agreement could be about to be reached. It is believed that he will soon meet with coach, Pep Guardiola, who has asked for an even bigger squad for the next campaign to avoid a repeat of the injury and suspension dilemma he had for the Champions League final.

Europa Press meanwhile quoted Bruno as saying that he will now “look for other options” following the “real tragedy” at Betis as he affirmed his desire to play at the highest level in the league.
