Inter Veteran Patrick Vieira Hints At Ligue 1 Switch

The Frenchman could be on his way out this summer, if he does not feature in Jose Mourinho's plans...

Despite previously declaring his commitment to Inter, Patrick Vieira has revealed that his Serie A stay depends on whether he gets sufficient playing time next season.

"What I intend to do is play, at Inter or elsewhere," he clarified to L'Equipe.

"I need to discuss certain things with the coach to find out if I am part of his plans or not. Otherwise, anything is possible, but I'd prefer to play in a French club fighting for the title, rather than a mid-table club in another league."

Nonetheless, Vieira is looking forward to playing again for France after being recalled for friendlies against Nigeria and Turkey by coach Raymond Domenech.

"Now, I have a week to devote to my national team, with regards to the rest we will have to see later," he concluded.
