More On Manchester City's Kaka Bungle

The Rossoneri's Brazilian star reportedly rejected the Citizens after they couldn't tell what position he'd be playing...

Conflicting claims have come to light since the collapse of Kaka's proposed mega-move from AC Milan to Manchester City, with both clubs and the player himself insisting it was they who called off the deal.

The picture being painted in the press, however, is that the Sky Blues botched the negotiations badly, with the most of the blame laid on executive chairman Garry Cook.

A number of Italian newspapers recently alleged that Cook failed to make an official bid for the Brazilian superstar during six hours of talks, instead peppering the Milan representatives with trivial questions.

And now the English media have jumped in to criticise the City chief's overly circuitous approach, with the News of the World claiming that he was unable to say where the 26-year-old playmaker would slot into Mark Hughes' team.

An unnamed source told the UK tabloid, “Cook went through an elaborate laptop presentation with Kaka’s father [Bosco Leite, also his agent].

“But when he was asked how Kaka would fit into the side, there were no answers. It was the same with Kaka’s wages.”

Initial reports suggested the player would have earned close to €300,000 per week at Eastlands, but City repeatedly claimed that these figures were hugely inflated.
