Inter To Fight Real Madrid For Cristiano Ronaldo - Reports
Inter Milan could fight with Real Madrid over Cristiano Ronaldo as the club aims to add some strength down the flanks...
Manchester United will have to fight off Inter as well as Real Madrid for Cristiano Ronaldo after reports have suggested that the Italian Champions have joined the race for the winger.
Sportmediaset claims that the Nerazzurri are keen on the Portugal ace and their plan appears to pivot around Jorge Mendes, the agent of both Jose Mourinho and Ronaldo. It is, reportedly, his job to convince the youngster to join Inter.
Last week, Il Corriere Dello Sport claimed both the 'Special One' and Ronaldo were involved in a secret meeting to discuss plans for the future.
However, any plans Inter have of signing the Portuguese star will need to be grand after United coach Sir Alex Ferguson said that Ronaldo wouldn't be for sale for less than €120 million. Mourinho has always stated his penchant for the FIFA World Player of the Year and president Massimo Moratti is willing to bow down to the coaches' demands.
Inter need a winger who can play on both sides. Both Amantino Mancini and Ricardo Quaresma have been flops this season after their summer arrivals. Luis Figo looks set to retire, and thus the Italian side need some speed, skill and muscle down the flanks.
Mourinho has been tasked to bring Champions League glory to the San Siro and Ronaldo could be the answer to achieving glory on the big European stage. Moratti will do anything to secure the European Cup for the black and blue half of Milan and a summer move could be on the cards.
Real Madrid remain in pole position to sign him if daily reports from Spanish daily Marca are to be believed.
