AC Milan winger Urby Emanuelson is excited to return to Ajax for the first time since leaving the club in 2011.
The versatile Dutchman spent the first seven years of his professional career at the Amsterdam ArenA, having been at the club since 1994 as a youngster.
Emanuelson, who is looking forward to playing in front of friends and family in Netherlands, has played at left-back, on the wing and as an attacking midfielder this season and admits he would feel more confident with a permanent position.
"It’s going to be a nice challenge against Ajax," he told nusport.nl. "There are going to be a lot of my relatives and friends in the stands.
"Allegri has often changed my role in the team, but I have continued to do my best for the club. It would be better for me though when I have a defined role in the team."
Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani is hoping this weekend’s win over Sampdoria will help get the injury-hit squad back on track after a poor start to the domestic season, though he cannot see an immediate return for Stephan El Shaarawy or Kaka.
"The injury to El Shaarawy is very unfortunate," Galliani told reporters. "He will certainly miss the Ajax game.
"However, we have to look to the future with optimism and we’ll take on Ajax with belief.
"Kaka will also not be available for the game against Juventus, either. It is more likely that he will be back after the international break."
Milan sit second in Champions League Group H behind Barcelona on goal difference and ninth in Serie A after six games.
