The reigning German and Spanish champions will face each other in the semi-finals of the Champions League after being acquainted during the group stages...
Jose Mourinho's men will be looking to take another step forward in their quest to land the coveted 'La Decima' while Jurgen Klopp's young side will try and replicate their group stage performance against the Los Blancos. Ahead of this feisty encounter, Goal.com
asks its fans, as to who will come out on top.
Real Madrid fans:
||Getting Dortmund was the best possible thing for us. Bayern look unbeatable while Barca, on their day, can be very dangerous. It couldn't get better than Madrid reaching the final. First leg being in Germany, we should try and get an away goal. However Madrid's record in Germany is poor, but things change and so do records, so I am hoping for the best possible result. Its been a long time since Madrid have won the trophy. We were eliminated from the semi's twice in the last two years, but this season the hope is to go and win it at Wembley. Hala Madrid !!
||As a Madrista, I am confident that we will be able to secure a place in the finals of the Champions League. Borussia Dortmund defeated us in the group stages at Signal Iduna Park and drew at the Santiago Bernabeu, but the stakes are higher now and we want to win the La Decima, come what may. We have Cristiano Ronaldo and the 'Special One', and they will make sure that Madrid secure a place in the finals. The fact that the 2nd leg is at the Bernabeu only strengthens my belief.
||Real Madrid have been ruthless this season in the Champions League. Although Dortmund dominated us in the group stage, this is a totally different scenario. Hope Cristiano Ronaldo continues his free scoring, helping us to win the La Decima. Predicting a 4-2 aggregate Madrid win.
||Best possible draw for Madrid. While Madrid did not beat Dortmund in the group stages, they have drastically improved from their early season form while Dortmund seem unable to score. Their finishing against Malaga in the first leg was horrendous, and their qualification was only due to the opposition switching off during the last 5 minutes.
||Mourinho would relish this tie and so will we. Having lost in the group stages against Dortmund, it can serve as a lesson in this semi-final tie. Mourinho is a master when it comes to such situations, and I am highly optimistic that we will come out on top in this tie. Cristiano Ronaldo's heroics will surely lead us to the 'La Decima'.
Borussia Dortmund fans:
||It's set to be a fiery encounter and I am really excited. Two teams playing fantastic football is always a treat to watch. Dortmund, having played Real in the group stages before, know how they will line up and Jurgen Klopp being a very intelligent manager, will surely come up with a tactical masterpiece. I hope BVB and Bayern win their matches to set up an all German final, in which Dortmund could take sweet revenge. I cannot wait.
||As a Dortmund supporter, I couldn't have asked for a better draw for the semifinals. Unbeaten in the competition and avoiding Bayern in the semi-finals means there is a genuine chance of making the finals of the competition and maybe getting a hand on the cup for the first time since 1997. Real Madrid are in super form. However, having beaten them once successfully in the group stages, there maybe finally an appearance for the dark horses among the remaining four, again this time around. Also, I hope Barca beats Bayern in the other semi-final.
||Robert Lewandowski, Marco Reus and Mario Götze's sublime form has raised my confidence. Having already beaten them in the group stages, Dortmund are well aware of Real's tactics. The mammoth comeback against Malaga in the previous round will give Klopp's side a huge boost. Dortmund's pressing and quick passing game is only second to Barcelona. Besides, they can give Madrid a real headache with their counter attacks. Prediction : A 3-2 aggregate victory for Dortmund
||From Dortmund's perspective, this is the worst possible draw that they could have got. Firstly, they have dominated Real Madrid in the group stages already, and Jose has had a good chance to see exactly what he needs to do to stop them. Also, Jose is a hard man to beat over the two legs for a team like Dortmund, that doesn't have much experience at this level of top European competition yet. Barcelona would have been the best draw Dortmund could have got, because of their playing style. They have the defenders to sit back patiently and defend, and they also have the speed and skill in attack to counter and rip the Barcelona back line apart (albeit consisting of 2 people). I predict that Madrid's game will be too hard for Dortmund to break down, simply because Jose's teams are never left open at the back. Madrid to go through, and Bayern to go through against Barcelona on penalties in the other game.
||The Yellow army have been unbeaten in the Champions League. They just about qualified for the semis with some luck against Malaga. Thus we need to be sure against the Spanish giants and not slip up. We have played magnificently and stayed fearless against every opposition this season. Having already faced Madrid earlier in the campaign, there would be an advantage of knowing their tactics. The tagline “Underdog” has been put up on us, which reduces the pressure of being favorites at least for now and the players would be giving their all to win the trophy. I would love Dortmund to beat Barcelona(who i think will progress against Bayern) in the final, and remain unbeaten, a feat that Man Utd achieved in 2008. We are ready for the big stage. BRING IT ON.
