The former Cagliari star feels the Bundesliga leaders are among the strongest teams around, and has no intention to leave Juventus any time soonJuventus attacker Alessandro Matri believes Bayern Munich are on a par with Barcelona and Real Madrid as the best teams around in Europe.
The Serie A champions were beaten 2-0 by the Bavarians in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie on Tuesday, and the 28-year-old is anticipating a tough return game.
"There is obvioulsy disappointment that we lost against Bayern, but we also realise that they are a very strong team on the same level as Barcelona and Real Madrid," Matri told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
"We tried to play our own game, but it was not enough. The early goal we conceded was a huge blow.
"There's a considerable gap with Bayern. They have a lot of experience and individual quality. We are convinced that our good organisation can help us, though. Anything can happen in football."
The striker then went on to discuss his personal future, and insisted that he is keen to remain in Turin.
"I want to stay at Juve as long as I feel important here. I understand that goals are crucial for a striker, but I have never really understood this search for a top striker that the media keeps discussing."
Matri has a contract with Juventus until June 2017.
