Galatasaray's Champions League success proves I made right choice, says Sneijder
The Netherlands international is pleased with his winter move to Cimbom and is determined to become a key player at his new club
Wesley Sneijder feels Galatasaray's qualification for the quarter-finals of the Champions League at the expense of Schalke is further proof that he made the right decision to join the Istanbul giants from Inter in the January transfer window. The Turkish champions recorded a 3-2 win at the Veltins Arena on Tuesday after previously recording a 1-1 draw at home to book their ticket for the last eight, and Sneijder said he is pleased to be part of the Galatasaray side.
"The win over Schalke is more than anything else a confirmation of something I already knew: that I made the right decision to join Galatasaray," Sneijder told De Telegraaf.
"The most important thing for me is that I get regular playing time again after a difficult time in Italy and that I can be important for Galatasaray."
The attacking midfielder also briefly discussed Friday's draw for the quarter-finals and stressed that he does not have any preferences as to who will be Gala's next opponent.
"I don't really care who we will be paired with on Friday."
The draw in Nyon is scheduled to kick off at 12:00CET.
