Lewandowski: Dortmund can reach Champions League final

Lewandowski: Dortmund can reach Champions League final

Latest Silva: PSG must not underestimate Valencia Previous Next Celtic striker Samaras hoping for 'fairer game' in second leg against Juventus

The Poland international is optimistic about his side's chances in European club football's elite competition after eliminating Shakhtar

Robert Lewandowski believes Borussia Dortmund have what it takes to make it to the Champions League final after seeing off Shakhtar Donetsk in the round of 16.

The Bundesliga champions beat Shakhtar 3-0 at the Westfalenstadion on Tuesday after recording a 2-2 draw in the first leg in Donetsk, and Lewandowski was quite pleased with BVB's performance.

"Obviously, we're pleased to have won 3-0 and with a very good performance. I think we were the better team from the first to the last minute," the Poland international was quoted as saying on the official Uefa website.

"Now we can relax and look forward to the draw. It could be Schalke or Bayern – anything is possible, and there are no weak teams left in the competition. Real Madrid? Why not...

"We're a good team too, and we have a chance of reaching the final, but we need to remain focused. We'll have to wait and see who we get in the next round."

The draw for the quarter-finals takes place in Nyon on March 15.
